The hybrid project “Memories of the Language” is a living organization, a European web of cultural creations, which comes with  its presence to support the need for global awareness, preservation and promotion of cultural heritage, uniting places and people, testimonies and narratives.  It records stories that enhance collective memory through various actions and services. Language, place, tradition, monuments,  coexist on a journey back, beyond the cracks of oblivion. 

With our first pilot project “Greco” of Calabria, it turns language into a living cultural action practice, combining documentary films, local film festivals, programmes safeguarding intangible cultural heritage and collaborations with other film productions that support oral languages across Europe and research and education labs for students, researchers and crators – inviting them to participate in the practical recording of oral languages, creating new forms of culture.

“Memories of Language” seeks the cultural memory that survives the passage of time, through documentation and technology. Co-creators research and art realistically reveal the result of the search, which is hidden within the very language and gaze of the people, thus contributing to the creation of an exclusive audiovisual and photographic material – a unique digital collection, with the aim  of preserving and projecting every memory, identity, heritage.

We observe, we record, we collect, we broadcast. Together we save, together we create.
